NICOP PYRN Award 2008 The Permafrost Young Researchers Network (PYRN) will be hosting the third annual PYRN award for students and young researchers at the Ninth International Conference On Permafrost (NICOP) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, June 29-July 3, 2008. The PYRN award is granted annually at selected permafrost conferences, and the 2008 award will be funded by a number of sponsors, including the International Permafrost Association (IPA). All young researcher (students and post-graduates) attending the conference are eligible for the award, although we do require joining PYRN for free (see http://pyrn.org). Criteria for the award will include both the quality and the scientific merit of the oral or poster presentation. If you are interested in competing for the award, please indicate this by checking the box in the Abstract Information section of NICOP's abstract submission page ("Check this box if you want to be considered for the Student & Young Researcher Paper Competition."). Also, please fill out this form and send it to Daniel Fortier (ffdf@uaf.edu) no later than September 1, 2007.
